The Sellout

The protagonist of The Sellout, the novel by Man Booker Prize winner Paul Beatty (USA), reintroduces slavery and segregation to his hometown. Etgar Keret‘s new book entices young men to join the army by distributing rare Pokémon figures in combat zones. Yael Sternhell will speak with them about the crazy deeds that the protagonists of their books do to achieve their goals, about humor and political correctness in Israeli and American society, and about the fine line between the humorous and the sad in literary works.
