Ruby Namdar

Ruby Namdar (USA/Israel)
Namdar was born in Jerusalem in 1964, to a family of Iranian-Jewish heritage. He holds a master’s degree in anthropology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Namdar has published stories, literary reviews, and translations into Hebrew of classical Persian poetry. His first book, Haviv, won the 2000 Minister of Culture Prize for Debut Literature. His novel The Ruined House (2013) won the Sapir Prize. For the last fifteen years he has been living in New York, where he teaches Hebrew and Jewish literature.
