Dr. Amitai Mendelsohn
Mendelsohn is the curator of Israeli Art at the Israel Museum, Jerusalem. His doctoral dissertation, which explored images of Jesus in Israeli art, stands at the basis of an exhibition that will open in the Israel Museum later this year. Among the exhibitions he curated are: Table for Two: Avraham Ofek and Micha Ulman, Michael Sgan-Cohen: A Retrospective, Prophets and Visionaries: Reuven Rubin’s Early Years, Michal Helfman: Just Be Good To Me, Real Time – Art in Israel 1998-2008, The Wood Menagerie: Works by Rudi Lehmann, and Fields of Vision: Landscapes by Israel Hershberg. In 2010 he co-curated the permanent exhibition of Israeli Art in the renewed Israel Museum with Yigal Zalmona, and in 2015 he curated the Museum’s current permanent exhibition of Israeli Art.
