Arkadi Duchin

Born in 1963 in Babruysk, Belarus. Duchin’s interest in music started early in his life, and by the age of twelve he was already playing with leading bands. At the age of 15 he immigrated with his family to Israel, and wrote his first Hebrew songs. In 1980 he met up with Micha Shitrit and they formed the band The Friends of Natasha, which has since become one of the most popular bands in Israel. In 1989, he released his first solo album That’s How I Want It – So Be It, which is dedicated to one of the greatest Russian poets, Vladimir Wisotzki. His solo albums include, among others, Arkadi Duchin (1995), Domino (1999), and To Feel (2001). Duchin has written songs for many well-known Israeli performers such as Arik Einstein, Nurit Galron, Shlomi Shabat, Rita, and Eyal Golan, to name but a few. He was also the musical producer in albums by Leah Shabat and the band Carmella Gross Wagner, composed music for the theatre (The Rubber Tradesmen by Chanoch Levin), and for films (Assi Dayan’s An Electric Blanket Named Moshe). He recently released his latest album, To Love or to Die, the result of a 10-year long process.
