Roman Katsman
Israeli literary scholar, Professor at the Department of Literature of the Jewish People in Bar-Ilan University, an author of numerous books and articles on Hebrew and Russian literatures. He emigrated from Zhitomir (Ukraine) in 1990, and studied in Bar-Ilan University, where he completed his doctoral dissertation about Agnon and Dostoevsky in 1999. Recently he has worked also on Jewish-Russian literature and tried his hand in Hebrew-Russian translation. His most recent books include “A Small Prophecy: Sincerity and Rhetoric in Agnon’s Work” (in Hebrew), and a book on alternative history “Literature, History, Choice.” His new book about Russian-Israeli literature is expected to be published soon.
