Michal Held
Dr. Michal Held-Delaroza researches and teaches Judeo-Spanish (Ladino) literature and culture and Hebrew Literature at the Hebrew University. Her book Ven te kontare / Let Me Tell You a Story (2009) uses multidisciplinary tools to interpret the personal narratives of Judeo-Spanish speaking women storytellers. She has also published numerous essays exploring the Sephardic culture, identity, language and literature. Her book of poetry Merachefet al Pnei HaMayim / Over the Face of the Waters (2009), edited by Haviva Pedaya, followed Zman HaRimon / Time of the Pomegranate (1996). Both works are fusing Hebrew with Ladino.
